Morning vs Evening Rituals: Finding Your Rhythm

The body is not the same organism in the morning as it is in the evening. Its chemistry differs. A ritual that serves you at dawn may disturb you at dusk.

The morning body

Cortisol peaks between 6 and 8 AM. A morning ritual should work with this energy. Stimulating scents — peppermint, rosemary, grapefruit. Apply body oil with vigorous upward strokes. The morning body wants to arrive.

The evening body

Melatonin rises as light fades. An evening ritual supports this transition. Base notes and heart notes — lavender, cedarwood, chamomile. Run a warm bath. Apply oil gently. The evening body wants to land.

The transition ritual

The most overlooked ritual is the transition between day and evening. A transition ritual bridges the gap — washing hands with intention, applying oil to the wrists, lighting a candle. The body needs a clear signal that the mode has changed.
